At their best, as on Arrival, ABBA were as mysterious as Bowie, as rococo as Phil Spector, as unbearably sad as the Smiths.

Going on a bit of an ABBA binge, these guys are truly generation defining, the amount of classics under their name is incredible, and even if they haven’t aged amazingly it’s still undeniable that they created some fantastic music. Scoring a very solid 65/100 ABBA’s fourth studio album Arrival is definitively the best album of their discography. Unlike their previous efforts which frequently suffered from uneven pacing and filler fatigue this album actually has real structure. This is a really good album that is kind of carried by some great to legendary singles, but this album is mostly pretty good and at the very minimum is interesting and listenable enough for me to say this album as a whole is an enjoyable listen and really good.
