The heavy songs on Evolution should please longtime fans, with a couple harkening back to the dynamism of Disturbed’s first couple of albums, but the glut of softer tracks may have been served better on a separate acoustic EP.
While it's hard to argue that Evolution lives up to its moniker, the familiarity of the architecture is lent considerable gravitas by the overall execution, which as per usual, leaves nothing but perspiration in its wake.
There are superficial differences here and there, but for the most part these tracks stick to predictable structures and similarly bland tones.
It’s worth noting that the title of this, the Chicago metal band’s seventh studio album, is ‘Evolution’. Honestly: any of these 10 songs would sound perfectly at home on the band’s 2000 debut ‘The Sickness’.
At best, Evolution could add a few more bangers to their roster and slip by unnoticed. At worst, it could knock the band down to Creed levels of self-parody.
Bad music and Zionist, pick a struggle bro
(If you actually want a legit review of this, it’s the most bland, uninspired, and generic dad rock I have heard in a while. Are You Ready is fine and everything else is a struggle to listen to. The weird use of ballads makes the entire thing so much cheesier and worse. lol)
My Dad rented a new truck a we found this disc inside of it and wondered how good it was. Wow, at first we liked the first song then realized the rest of the album are rehashes of that same exact song lmao.
I searched it and I was shocked how low the user score is. Idk the history of his band, though what I know for certain is that this was a funny listen for me, my dad and my sis.

Its so fucking ironic that Disturbed decided to title their latest effort "Evolution" because Evolution would constitute positive improvement, and the band have done quite the contrary and devolved into pop-metal bullshit.
I am absolutely disgusted by this
Maybe the hiatus should've stayed permanent, as this album very sluggish with each song sounding very similar. And while this can be a good thing (See Ten Thousand Fists), when it's this bad, it makes a very boring listening experience
No intro i don’t have any words
This album has 0 direction whatsoever, it’s way too commercial and sounds like every other metal album from 2018, is so fucking corny it’s unbearable, it’s just bad.
The production is too polished, David has no aggression, the lyrics are corny, it has no edge, it’s so basic and predictable, and most of the album feels forced.
It plays it way too safe, is like unseasoned chicken and white rice (which i enjoy quite a bit so i ... read more
