Payasa plays by their own rules. Beats switch up in an instant and a new assault can come from any direction. The playing is tight, but not cumbersome... Always rooted in beatdown traditions and focusing on the groove. Big heavy Chicago sound with fun and innovative riffs folded into the recipe.
Payasa is a little-known hardcore band that has some power in their punches.
Baptized in Blood is not necessarily hardcore album of the year, but for being an album that won't really compete with the bigger releases this year, I've gotta say.. there's some heft in this one. Yeah, it's generic beatdown, and admittedly, there isn't too much soul put into this from what I can feel, but somehow, the intention and the ethos is bleeding through, so to speak,
