I am a woman that appreciates a good, solid production, but this is one of those examples of where I can appreciate the low production budget for the sake of the sound. 2nd is super quick and easy, with infectious beep-bops and too-real lyricism, relaying a relatable experience for any woman on her twenties who’s tuning in
There are a lot of interesting and exciting ideas on Grave Ives' little album. 2nd is quite inventive for bedroom pop but still manages to sound DIY and intimate. All of the songs clock in around 2 minutes and the synths are very cohesive over the twelve tracks. I do wish there was a little more to grab onto, some of the melodies are slightly forgettable especially as the backgrounds bleed into one another.
