Thunder Perfect Mind has long been regarded as an excellent place for uninitiated Current 93 listeners to dive in to David Tibet's 40+ album discography, and though it's certainly not for everyone, it stands as one of the most important works of the last decade.

This album sounds so familiar to me for some reason, like reuniting with a long lost childhood friend. Even with themes of apocalypse, it somehow comforts my soul.
Is Current 93 for everyone? Absolutely Not, there definitely an group which goes left when others go right and David Tibet is such a fascinating character with his apocalyptic fueled lyrics and his ability with Current 93 to take a English inspired Medieval folk and turn it into such a cold dissonant atmosphere and his unique approach to singing is for me so captivating and I have to listen to what he is saying and I can see his work being quite extraordinary and hard to truly appreciate but I ... read more

while my experiences with the Neo-Folk genre have been… mixed at best, I really quite enjoyed this record. The cold, medieval sound of Thunder Perfect Mind is breathtakingly sad and empty, i feel like i'm slowly decaying each time a new, drony, repetitive folk instrumental peeks it's head.
