I think I said in my review of ‘Laid’ that, looking objectively, the album was their best, but then also said that quite a lot of songs blended into each other. Well, ‘Seven’ is my favourite James album. I sense that it may have been criticised in the press for its more overtly stadium friendly sound, but I think that’s what they do best and this release exemplifies it.

Crazy how a mix of Pink Floyd's and Pavement's sound can work so well. Poetic writing that doesn't fall into extravagance and really lets you reflect on your own thoughts and convictions. An album about freedom, even from yourself.
