The first half of this album is about as agreeable and welcoming as Eitzel gets, especially the sprightly 'Can You See?' and comfy 'Sleep' - surely there was the potential here for a more considered assault on mainstream sensibilities after 1997's over-egged Peter Buck collaboration effort 'West' went 'overly upbeat'?
