Okay so Mr. Bart (or shall I say, new favorite AOTY artist Bvrtxk), your new EP completely floored me. Every different section of your piece sounded super authentic and professional, and each of the respective motifs blend super well with each other. Your use of sampling in the 2nd or 3rd was my favorite part! Even if there is no underlying story, although there may be, I don't know, I made one up in my head. A person, man or woman, basically goes on the deep web to hire a hitman to kill an ex. ... read more

[Album of the Day Challenge: Day 2]

I MASSIVELY underestimated this one! 76? Nah you stupid dum dum! This is killer in the BEST WAY! There's some really amazing parts on here, like the ballroom sample with that KILLER drum beat. Where did you get these drums man? They're great! They help to add this killer atmosphere that makes it feel like you're in a haunted house and eerie things are happening all around you.

Damn, what a fucking ride that was! That was seriously one of the most impressive pieces of music I've heard coming from a fellow AOTY user. I'm a huge sucker for anything with a dark atmosphere, and this EP successfully created just that so well that it genuinely sounds like something that could fit in a soundtrack for a mind-fuck horror movie. This reminds me a lot of my favourite ambient artist, Set Fire To Flames (which I saw was one of the inspirations) if they made a hip-hop inspired ... read more

I’ve always been honest with AOTY users about their music projects, so this won’t be any different.

This is fucking sick. Lo-fi, hip hop, and plunderphonics are blended together so seamlessly on this 10 minute project. There are some truly epic scenes painted in the damp, spacious atmosphere created by Mr. Bart. If Slauson Malone was tasked to score a snuff film, I think this is probably what you’d get. That may not seem like a compliment, but it’s meant as one. I ... read more

[ALBUM OF THE DAY CHALLENGE: DAY TWO]

HOLY SHIT!! Color me impressed!

So I'm probably not gonna write much about this since it is just a 10 minute lofi instrumental hip hop track, but Jesus Christ did I love this thing!

It's dark, somber, moody and melecholic without speaking a word. It's georgus, with the entire mix being this beautiful sprawling track with this seemingly defetist and nihilist tone, which is goddamn impressive for a really long beat.

And the length is absolutely perfect. ... read more
