I should keep picking out random albums in record stores it's been turning out pretty well
Devildriver delivers the goods on this new album. Though some songs feel like fillers entirely, the heavy riffing and groove present throughout the album help more than make up for it. The clean singing on Wishing was a huge but welcome surprise. DD has imo the most catchy groove/death metal sound out there and it continues to be the case on this album.
favs: Wishing, Iona, Dealing with Demons
This is an alright album with a few very nice songs, however it's far from being as good as their first three albums.
The singles are pretty tight though, I'd recommend this album just for the singles alone, as they're actually pretty damn heavy. I feel like DevilDriver is still transitioning from their former bounce riff heavy metalcore-ish sound.
