Much of the record calls to mind the best work Brion has produced, from Mann to Apple, Eels to Wainwright. There’s happiness in spots, but it’s cautious or ironic.

This is literally just The Beatles. Like, that's it. There is no reason I couldn't see Paul McCartney or John Lennon on these songs, this is so The Beatles that it's hard to not see it like that (I guess the only real exception would be I Believe She's Lying though).

After years and years Brion finally remasters his first and only LP. A piece of 2000's pop rock that boasts superb melodies, honest, bitter (sometimes) sweet lyrics & a diverse set of instrumentation that culminates in an incredibly emotionally potent record. In what feels like listening to the throwback pop of the 60's, Brion recontexualizes these inspirations with a modern touch.

Beautifully, this album is straight up beautiful. While it may not do anything new, it's still super fun of a record and it is clear in the opener "Gotta Start Somewhere", that chorus that just sucks in you in right away, and keeps your attention for the entire album.
