D'Angelo's last project to date is surprisingly his live Spotify Sessions project that came out just 5 months after Black Messiah. There is only 4 songs attached to this project but they are more drawn out then the usual D'Angelo track with one even reaching just under 12 minutes long. A jazzy, laid back, live rendition of a couple "Black messiah" tracks and one prince cover.
A really worthwhile listen, The Vanguard really shine on here, D'Angelo has proven himself as a vocalist, but this is the vanguards real time to shine.
One part I really love is in the song... "Really love"... when the guitar mimics what D'Angelo sings whilst vocalising near the end, its really fun.
