An amazing, soul infused, electronic journey that has stuck with me over the years. Closest thing to a galactic spiritual experience one can have, up there with Until The Quiet Comes by Flying Lotus. Out of this world. Sends you careening through the galaxy.
"Early Riser" gets it's 10th birthday like wine. Taylor was able to make an album that sparks very brightly and spirtually from the very start with all the explosions in "Postpartum", but also was very pop and light-headed with features such as Nai Palm, RYAT and his father Bobby. I guess I even find myself a bit strange calling neo-soul, If we insist in calling it this or that. I think we, in general, have a little problem associating Black artists with music styles ... read more
