By the time of Formula, Old had very much evolved from one kind of musical beast into another, finding a place where a distanced, retro-technological approach fed into a slow, head-nodding metal stomp.
I didn’t really like this very much because I’m not a fan of this sort of style of industrial music, nor was I a fan of the strange robotic vocals. I did like some of the guitar work, but even then, it wasn’t stimulating enough for me to give this any higher of a rating.
Checking this band previous projects, they started as a grindcore act, then they moved to industrial avant-garde metal, and now, with this album, they sound like a mix of industrial-experimental-space-post-rock?
