While Bun without Pimp would struggle on the production side of things, Pimp without Bun tends to struggle on the lyricism and technical rap ability. Pimp has enough soul and personality to barely stay afloat, but the end product sounds too redundant regardless. So much so that Pimp said 'fuck it' and got a few Bun B features anyway.
A bit too repetitive throughout but it's hard too not be entertained by Pimp C. A few GREAT songs on here, most notably Pourin' Up.
Pimp C is a legendary rap figure more for his personality and influence outside of rap than for his music, as he's always been an above average rapper to me. Pimpalation: The Pimp Is Free! is Pimp C's most notable solo release. The interesting thing about this album to me is how there is literally one solo track.
