Devo's final album before their first split really shows the shattered state of the band in full resolution and it makes me pretty upset with just how much of a nosedive their quality went on. This thing is still really rough but nowhere near as bad as Total Devo, but is that really saying much? This project is so boring because not a single time in the band's 12 years of existing have they once changed up their sound or style and it is killing me internally. And here we have an almost entirely uninteresting alt dance album. Idk what to say, i didn't hate anything but i just found it dull, and devoid of the charm that made me love their earlier output. The synthesizer work is tacky, intolerable at worst, like the last track, annoying at best, and the drum machine programming is so repetitive and painfully 80s i just checked out by the middle of the album.
