Somehow I missed this. In my opinion, Keane has a good debut but really peaked with Under The Iron Sea, a phenomenal album and Perfect Symmetry was a great follow up but ever since then the band has sort of been repeating the same ideas again and again. Tom Chaplin sounds better than ever but the songs themselves lack what made the aforementioned albums great. None of the songs stand out that much and overall I just feel indifferent which is kind of sad.
The songs sound nice. Even the two demos on this EP seem well thought out and sufficiently cared for. The songs don't come off as particularly catchy or memorable, but still sound very good overall. While the sound is decently different from their other projects I've reviewed (Hopes and Fears, Under the Iron Sea), it maintains the pleasant and easy to digest feeling that they had in those works. Pretty good.
