Wormrot on their sophomore LP Dirge return with an even shorter, tighter, and quicker grindcore album compared their debut, Abuse. What I think has changed the most from their previous album is the addition of these high pitched scream vocals mixed in with the low guttural vocals that not only makes the album a more hellish undergoing, but adds more vocal variety across the album.

this thing rips. very faithful to the genre’s roots (Scum’s DNA is flowing through it, especially with track 18 being a pretty obvious reference to that album), yet it also develops its ideas very well and is overall super fun. 25 songs, 18 minutes, all assault your ears with grind. what else could ... read more
