Alien Weaponry are clearly using this album to explore, which helps the notion that some songs in here are very hit or miss for me. The upside is that in comparison to their debut, this album has much better percussion this time around. The guitar work and bass work are semi the same, but also they do some interesting stuff too. This album is pretty hard to listen to most of the time. The mix is weird and muffled, the songs are just extremely bloated and there's just little to no substance to most of it. I like the cultural aspect to it, but that's just about the only praise I can give it. The vocals are really not great either besides the ones spoken in the Maori language. It's just a major letdown as their debut sounded much more mature than this.
