As with nearly all of her albums, there’s a bit of reserve to Charmer that makes the record easier to appreciate than to embrace enthusiastically.
For all of the down and doubtful lyrics on Charmer, Mann has never sounded like more of a natural.

This record left absolutely no impression on me. This has to be Aimee Mann's weakest record yet : it fails to deliver both sonically and lyrically, and it lacks the emotional punch of her previous records. Fav tracks : Charmer, Disappeared, Labrador, Living A Lie, Gumby
