Detect is slightly less fully realized, perhaps, than the previously recorded Debris, but shows this artist refusing to stand pat on conquered ground and insisting on wringing more and more music out of a source that almost everyone else would have thought barren.
Despite not being very widely acknowledged within the sphere of Sachiko M listeners, I think "Detect" marks a relatively significant point for the growth of her approach to onkyo music. The most prevailing factor is the usage of silence on this project, as it has not been used to this extent on her previous releases and it would only become increasingly more relevant during her later albums.
