With Heroine they have pushed themselves to the absolute limit and however it’s received, they must be commended for that.

Heroine, ooooohhhhh Heroine, one of the best albums i’ve ever heard, and the best modern album ever in my opinion.
Thornhill have made exactly what the album title is, pure fucking heroine, this shit is addicting, more than you would ever realise, the height of my obsession with this album, i could listen to this 6 times a day and not get bored.

Deftones feels in abundance on The Hellfire Club but this track is bang on and a fantastic album opener for Thornhill. Distorted and fuzzy production gives off a sometimes undesirable scratchy and fizzy sound in the mix on Leather Wings that takes away some of the hard hitting clarity and shine.
Blue Velvet starts clean and the vocals have a bit of that peak Muse vibe, the midsection is interesting with stings and falsetto vocals and works back into a wall of sound nicely.

I have no idea why, but I just love the lyrics on the hellfire club so much. Actually, on a lot of this album. I think it’s tapping into my inner romantic fiend >:3
Say what you will, but this is perfect Thornhill. I agree that their metalcore sound was astonishing and they had the scene in the palm of their hands. But, to completely go left-field and take over the rock/shoegaze sound by storm was unpredictable. I wouldn’t have seen that coming. I got to witness this album rollout firsthand, and was immediately hooked. The entire album sounds like it’s being played on a vintage record player with the crackling and vocoder usage.
