While it can sometimes just be a bit too speedy and brutal without much difference and can get a bit samey, the times when this band try and shake it up with the more technical playing and the breakdowns are easily some of the best parts. I am also a massive fan of the length of this album, which keeps it from being boring, and the bass playing throughout has a very prominent roll which causes it to have a pretty unique sound, especially for the time
Sadus are what I’d imagine to be the result if Kreator never got big and German-style thrash stayed underground. It doesn’t seem like much at the surface level but once you dig enough, you find a hidden gem. Now Illusions isn’t the most revolutionary thrash album out there, taking an American spin on the aforementioned German-style, with more technical parts, but ever so slightly that you can barely notice it.
