Although it's brief for an album, just over half-an-hour in length, and has some soporific lulls, Gabriel sounds like a complete and thoroughly considered statement.

'GABRIEL' is a serviceable debut album that demonstrates keshiโ€™s ear for gorgeous, soft production. However, keshiโ€™s guitar skills and writing has lost some of the sparkle of his older tracks, and the cloying nature of the albumโ€™s sound overall limits the heights that 'GABRIEL' could have reached.

I am confident that I would've loved GABRIEL a lot more a few years ago but I don't really dig this style that much anymore. keshi's debut album has an overarching youthful aesthetic and depends greatly on good hooks which fortunately, there are many. Although there's a subtle and interesting crossover between alternative R&B and indie pop, the lofi production is not particularly exciting or unique.

NO NUANCE REVIEW

Keshi’s voice sounds gorgeous, and the trap influenced pop/R&B production sounds lively, but the music itself is fairly safe and plays super close to the rulebook. Still, his career has just started, it sounds like he’s still trying to find his artistic voice, and I think he has a lot of potential. Give this a shot if you’re a fan of the poppier, Bearface lead moments from BROCKHAMPTON.

The first two tracks off ‘GABRIEL’ sound like they’re pulled directly from a BROCKHAMPTON album, especially “GET IT.” The vocal layers are identical to those of their early work, and the R&B inspirations on “SOMEBODY” come right off their most recent records. While these are still enjoyable in their own right, it’s fortunate that the rest of the record stays more in line with what you’d expect from keshi. His songwriting and production ... read more

Make-up for Mar. 26th, 2026

This was recommended by a friend for a listen. Sorry Josey, this one wasn't totally for me. Not that it was terrible, but I feel as though there are artists who could execute this same bedroom popish/k-popish rap with a little more finesse lyrically and production-wise, as well as a little more creatively

Jesus this is such a satisfying album.

I decided to turn this album on because my friend recommended me this album. So, this morning I turned it on when shopping at Costco and let me tell you... ts was such a vibe. The monotonous practice of getting all the stuff I need was instantly elevated and I even found myself playing some of the songs back. The loud noises of shopping carts and people going about their business was instantly drowned out by the soft voice of Keshi.

I honestly really ... read more
