It is as much the sound of being unable to play as it is some kind of clever phrasing. It is beyond clever when paired with the drumming, percussion, and vocals.

What a strange release Optimo by Liquid Liquid is, instead of putting an emphasis on the lead vocalist or guitarists it instead focuses the attention of the music to the groovy bassist and snappy drummer. This album feels heavily inspired by Arthur Russell's Dinosaur L, and was a heavy inspiration on the band Primus due to its' influence on Dance Punk as a whole and being quite the staple in the small Bass playing community. A decent EP with mildly engaging dance punk. It's got the grooves and it's got some punky attitude so it checks out. Nothing all that impressive tho.

I think I like Cavern and Out, but it all sort of blends together. The cover goes hard though, definitely outshines the music within.
