One of the better celebrations of Afro-Caribbean music was apparently created in the UK...

Excellent album!! Some funky tracks on this album from 'Cymande'. A combination of funk, soul, rock & reggae... its enough to get anybody's body movin'.

Each track had me grooving along... whether its a feel-good reggae track, or psychedelic soul... this album has a little something for everybody.

grand bien fasse à celleux qui se laisseront immerger dans cet excellent assemblage de styles qui absorbe les meilleurs codes de la musique rastafari et recrache un mélange funky, relâché, baladeur qui ne peut que ravir les oreilles. un disque parfait pour commencer l'année et donner une saveur bien particulière à ces premiers jours. bonne année!

Gliding across funk, soul, jazz and some psychedelic rock, Cymande's self-titled debut record got me feeling groovy. There are some meditative and transcendental tones in here, as well as some grooviness mixed with protest, making this a slightly diverse album. The entire thing is painted by beautiful colors of fantastic bass lines and hypnotic flute work, turning all of the music into a infectious experience.
