The album remains interesting from front to back, thanks to concise song lengths and a healthy variety of tempos, which alternate from rat-tat-tat machine gun-style onslaughts to chugging mid-tempo mosh sections.

Been a long time since I've revisited this one, most think it's their worst record.
Savage Butchery is a short frantic opener, decent riffs. It's good but standard. Hatchet To The Head has a little groove in the beginning but then goes for the frantic blast beats. It does have some nice 2nd half groove. It's also pretty normal though.
Pit of Zombies begins in a similar blasting fashion but the groove is more intense here, it has a classic heavy metal feel to the riff, ... read more
While quite similar to Bloodthirst, the riffs were much weaker. It still has the pummeling aggression though, which is what I gravitated towards the most on here.

As a whole this album does have a lot of the same ideas, which makes the listening experience a bit less enjoyable

To me, Gore Obsessed has always just been an awfully average death metal album. It doesn't really try anything new and stays pretty consistently bland throughout; to me, this album doesn't have an interesting enough style to be able to stand alone without any other notable ideas.

This album is… odd.
While I was listening to it I remember enjoying the music wholly, however when I look back on it there was minimal memorable songs. It is not bad In the slightest, it simply fails to give you an experience to look back on.
