For album number nine, Wretched Spawn, Cannibal Corpse continue on with much the same style of gore-themed death metal that had made them a mainstay of the stateside scene for a decade-and-a-half.

Severed Head Stoning gets started with good energy, quick fast and to the point. Psychotic Precision continues this furious pace, solid riffs and execution, nothing outside their normal realm, signature slower grooves.

Decency Defied is one of their lowkey classics and a good live tune. Nice groovy riffs and pacing. Pretty catchy as well. Frantic Disembowelment gets a little more frantic in the riff department, little more twisty.

Somewhat front loaded album, but man Corpsegrinder's vocals are supreme on here. I used to put this relatively higher in their discography, but it isn't as brutal as I remembered.

title track is funny to me because corpsegrinder is growling about some alien thing raping a woman and then after each verse it's a groovy riff lmfao

anyways this is also one of their better albums production-wise. great, thick slop right here

Very solid throughout, about everything you'd expect CC to do well: the vocals, some good riffs, good aggression and overall good shit to headbang to.
