For album number nine, Wretched Spawn, Cannibal Corpse continue on with much the same style of gore-themed death metal that had made them a mainstay of the stateside scene for a decade-and-a-half.
Severed Head Stoning gets started with good energy, quick fast and to the point. Psychotic Precision continues this furious pace, solid riffs and execution, nothing outside their normal realm, signature slower grooves.

I little better than I thought it originally was, but still isn't really amazing.

STRONG 7
Somewhat front loaded album, but man Corpsegrinder's vocals are supreme on here. I used to put this relatively higher in their discography, but it isn't as brutal as I remembered.
Rating change: ~60 -> 75
title track is funny to me because corpsegrinder is growling about some alien thing raping a woman and then after each verse it's a groovy riff lmfao
anyways this is also one of their better albums production-wise. great, thick slop right here
Very solid throughout, about everything you'd expect CC to do well: the vocals, some good riffs, good aggression and overall good shit to headbang to.
