All you need to know is: when Code Orange give you something, you'd be a fool to think you've got them all figured out.

Distorted Sound
NINE INCH NAILS is the obvious comparison that comes to mind when you think about nailing these two elements. Big electronic-infused tracks that drip in a slick black oil that has permeated goth club nights for years.

Love this band and all the risks they take, but this is just not for me. Not to say its completely bad, but kind of uninteresting.

It's... fine? In my opinion, it's really not as bad as people are saying. At best, it's a nice compliment to Underneath with some cool moments and nice beats. At worst, it's just a boring electronic album that slightly overstays its welcome. Not bad by any stretch, but please go back to whatever shit you were doing on Underneath.

Kind of a mixed bag overall (Prismatic Shame is one of their worst, but The Cutters Theme is one of their best) but I’m glad it exists and adds another dimension to Underneath. I don’t think I’ll come back to it much but I really appreciate these guys honing in on their synth nerd sensibilities.
