What Hate Them lacks in complex substance is handily compensated for by Darkthrone's sheer attitude and blunt force -- something that no amount of technical showboating can possibly defeat.

PT. 23 - DARKTHRONE - HATE THEM
This album starts a lot more toned down with some simplistic instrumental work as well as some (kind of buried) vocals. The song totally makes a jump in tempo as well as mood near the end as we move into some trem picked guitars and blasting drums. It's a great era of their career, it's just overshadowed by the Unholy Trinity from the 90s

it's a good album. nothing I dislike about it. they just have better albums
