This album has a all the basics and fundamentals of a soul album of it's time but it just a bit too standard for my liking. Unlike other albums of it's time it really doesnt expand much past being a blueprint. A decent blueprint none the less

For today's 1001 albums to hear before I die, I rolled a group I had been wanting to hear a full length project from but somehow never officially got around to. Today I am listening to The Temptations' Cloud Nine from 1969. The Temptations are a Soul group spanning from Detroit Michigan yet helped immensely in expanding and defining the Philadelphia Soul sound during their run in the 60s. Whenever I hear The Temptations I think of that scene in Walk Hard The Dewey Cox story where he's tempted by drugs and is like "AH THE TEMPTATIONS" and then The Temptations are singing in front of him.

Favorite Track: Run Away Child, Running Wild

Least Favorite Track: I Heard It Through The Grapevine

it's too generic for me, incredibly well made, but something that time would surpass naturally
