Kerrang!
Dutch metal troupe Within Temptation take a turn for the heavy (in every sense) and make their best album in over a decade.

Distorted Sound

Even though Bleed Out does not contain a commodity of surefire bangers, this is not a release to be sniffed at.

Honestly, I don't know if I should call this a disappointment or a step-up from their last album.

I am a huge fan of Within Temptation. Their 2007 album has some of my favorite songs on there, the production was fantastic, and the vocals are amazing on there. And the same can be said for both their 2011 and 2019 album. Fantastic albums, and I recommend giving them a listen. which is why I was thrilled to see that they were making a new album this year. So, in this album, we see the band ... read more

A little more on the over produced side of metal for me but those vocals were great! I'll always be here for those Evanescence vibes 😎

I had no idea Within Temptation released a new album and I could have lived my life without acknowledging it but here we are. Overall it sounds good, I just feel like they're creating the same songs again and again over the past few years. Always the same structure and vocal delivery. The instrumental is not groundbreaking but still really cool. Some songs might feel a bit long also. It's not bad though.

Taken from my Perfect Albums List

By far the lowest ranked album that meets all 3 criteria, Bleed Out is genuinely a fantastic symphonic metal record, arguably up there with Nightwish in vocal talent and ear candy factor. Within Temptation is one of those bands that I love but don't listen to, Sharon's vocals are impressive and the riffs are chunky, but it doesn't really fit into anything I listen to, its more of a Frankensteins mashup of various albums I like. On top of that, I ... read more

No way, these AI visualizers are too bad. Did they really think this would be cool?

I wasn't really into this band before, and maybe "Bleed Out" isn't the best album to introduce them to, but... it's sooo mid. All the songs are written by the same formula. The instrumentals are incredibly boring, the vocals are good but don't save the end result.

I wouldn't say this record is bad, but I can't call it good either.
