Televise is a seductive piece of work and a solid step forward for Calla's songcraft.

Heavily overlooked early 2000's indie rock album. I guess this would be considered slow core, but really back then I don't think people cared so much about specific genres within indie. I ebay splurged on the 10th anniversary limited vinyl, with just 250 numbered copies.

First experience with these guys was seeing them open for interpol at the Stone Pony on the TOTBL tour during the winter of 2002. This would have been less than 2 months before this album dropped. I enjoy Scavengers ... read more

Calla came out around the same time as Interpol, but instead of having any sleekness or sexiness came with some grit and violence. Of course, this meant less people listened to them but their work was great, if incredibly bleak.
It's a foggy haze of un-sexy ennui.
