The band’s name stands for ”earth-worship (Iroquois) funk free-for-all (jam),” and despite the eco- friendly hype, with Emergency on Planet Earth they do turn out gritty organic grooves with enthusiasm.

For a debut, Emergency shows quite a range of diversity, from the up-tempo jazzy instrumental "Music of the Mind" to the stop-start funk of "Whatever It Is, I Just Can't Stop."

A funky and beautiful record, a contender for best British soul album of the '90s, and frankly better than anything Stevie Wonder has made since Hotter Than July.

i’m at a loss for words honestly. this is possibly one of the greatest funk records i’ve heard. it’s just nonstop groovy goodness from start to finish. please listen to this!!!!!

This album is way beyond fun. It's the mega ultra happiness album... The sound is incredible, I have zero complaints.
