Neck-and-neck quality-wise with their sophomore album, but containing a different central strength. Nice & Smooth's debut doesn't quite reach the standard of Ain't A Damn Thing Changed as far as highest peaks (with the exception of Funky For You), but their debut does have the advantage of stronger consistency. The album was, to put it lightly, horribly mediocre. Vocally, cardboard is more appealing than this album. There wasn't a single song on here which I could confidently say had decent vocals. The production felt very triumphant, and was definitely a highlight of the album, with every song at the very least having a decent beat. As for the flows, lyrics etc, there are better groups/individuals for it, and Nice & Smooth is just terribly mediocre in this regard.

Musically, this is pretty solid, with decent late-80s production and both MCs with confident, complementary deliveries. Vocally though, it is all over the place. Much of the content is pretty empty, and there some poor hooks and bars to be found as well.
