Work and Non-Work is the perfect collection of Dream Pop songs that do a lot more than being dreamy and relaxing but add special structures and soundscapes that give this album a feeling like you are in space or having a good dream. It's a blissful record with the tone of creative ideas that are not scared of showing, as much as the vocals here work well in how hypnotic and calm they are also production here hits me with the calm and pure relaxation.
British Indietronica Broadcast emerged onto the scene in 1996, with a handful of singles and "The Book Lovers" EP. Reminding me of Portishead (if Portishead ditched their acid jazz style and experimented with electronica more), both bands have equally enticing female vocals and nifty tricks. while this isn't perfect, it's insanely good, and legendary. really unfortunate that broadcoast fizzed out the way they did, not sure why it happened, but the potential when there were five full members was boundless.
