Sounds like it was recorded on a Nokia! Changed the way I view music. This was my introduction to the band Sonic Youth. And the whiplash I got from it was unforgettable.
For some background information, I found Sonic Youth from their song "Schizophrenia" and wanted to see what the band was all about. So I settled on this album because of its eye-catching album art and title. Lord, have mercy... If you know anything about my music taste back then, it was all Cavetown and Powfu. So ... read more

Holyy shittttttttttttt!!
For an album that is 40+ minutes and has 15 tracks, there are literally like no misses. Not only that, but the pacing is elite. I loved absolutely everything about this album. Hospice might be soty. The guitar on that song sounds like a lessgazy version of a guitar off of Loveless.
The choruses throughout this are also amazing. Truly so many earworming choruses and vocals. At first the way the vocals were ... read more
The best summer music aot. Precious One is one of the bands all time songs. So damn infectious and ethereal.

Remnants of loss and hope and the such, captured in ghastly and surreal folk songs. Songs that breathe life from tragedy, appreciation and faults; a testament to failure that evokes a tragic hope.
From the first song alone, "Evangeline" I knew this album would be pretty devastating. I was correct in that assumption. Though depressive, instrumentally it is ... read more
I haven't heard a shoegaze album this good in forever. The track run from New Years to Lions and Tigers needs to be studied. The vocals are amazing, the guitars are lush and sound so alive. Each song felt creative and different in their own ways. I think after some more listens this could be a new favorite album for me. The cover art is also stellar.
Strings is like a top 5 shoegaze/dream pop song imo. ... read more
Completely bombastic, teetering from senseless wailing of instruments/vocals, to incredibly hard to decipher veil of noise rock. Some of the melodies buried in the noise just add to the chaos yet are entrancing as such. Keeping you on your toes at all costs.
Everything about Michigan Haters is a total assault to the ears, even down to the more cathartic moments that lull you in like a calm before the storm. Specifically Chili Dog, which is the most tame song on the record but nonetheless a ... read more
