This is an amazing and promising EP, rich and varied in sound palette and stylistic influences. In just under half an hour Jesu manages to explore a wide, but coherent, emotional spectrum, through the use of reverbed guitar riffs, digital drumwork, and atmospheric pads for ambience. Truly remarkable
Off rip, it's one of the best shoegaze projects I've ever heard. An indescribable experience.
A little too melodic and all over the place for my taste. While I can appreciate what this EP is going for, It didn’t really live up to the expectations I had based on its labeling as “doomgaze.” Though, even still outside of this expectation it really doesn’t do much for me.
Interesting sounds and ideas, but i won’t revisit any time soon.
6.5/10 would recommend if you want a light doom fade fix, but not much of anything if you’re into the more heavy stuff.
