This one really surprised me. The first half of this album doesn't even sound like King Crimson. It's so funky and groovy and honestly my favourite part of the album. Totally worth a listen solely to hear what New Wave King Crimson sounds like.
Obviously King Crimson's other classic album. There are arguments to be made that it's better than Crimson King. It's definitely heavier and has one of their most defining songs, Starless. Absolute cinema.
Super underrated album here. Really enjoyable first listen. Exiles is a masterpiece. One of those albums I won't play often but when I do, it blows me away every time.
Cool album with some unique songs and an absolutely beautiful title track. Not King Crimson's best but certainly worth a listen.
Absolute classic for a reason. Some of the most iconic prog rock songs of all time.
This is definitely the better album out of the 2. The drone textures here are much warmer and blended nicely with some orchestral instrumentation. It's obviously long and very minimalistic, just like the previous album, but it works well as background for studying and the like.
This is a solid drone album. Some highlights but also a good amount of moments that drag a bit long.
This is definitely one of Tim Hecker's best projects. Many beautiful tonal moments mixed with bits of distortion and droning makes for some tracks that feel like they have a real progression to them.
There is plenty of solid tracks on this album, with some interesting tonal and glitchy percussive moments but there is also the odd track that doesn't really move me. I do definitely love the way the tracks on this album flow into each other though, with the part 1 tracks being the bulk of the song and part 2s and 3s acting as interludes.
I have a lot of feelings about this album. My review I did of the Sloth EP was largely just describing the concept behind each song and I'm not gonna do that here because it will be incredibly lengthy. If you wanna know the meanings of lyrics or what songs are sampled across this thing, use genius. What I do want to talk about here is my general opinion on each song here, because I have these things rattling around in my brain for about 2 years now.

Brilliant production on this EP. Hungry ass performances from Conway and Gunn. Shit is insane
This is a super consistent Gunn album with tons of great features and highlights. Quintessential griselda
Chapter 3's Soundtrack is good. A lot of Tenna's motif and plenty of great 8 bit tracks with some great standouts. But Chapter 4's Soundtrack is on another level. I never expected something like The Third Sanctuary out of Toby but the man continues to impress.
Holy shit. Mercurial World is pure synth pop perfection. Every track on here is amazing. Incredibly groovy beats, tons of variation, great sounding synths and heavenly vocals from Mica. This is a stupidly good debut and I cannot wait to listen to Imaginal Disk.
Favourites - Dawning Of The Season, Hysterical Us, Chaeri
Least Favourite - You Lose!
Caroline Polachek's debut album Pang is a top tier pop album. Obviously, Caroline's vocals are some of the best you will ever hear but the production on here from people like Danny L Harle and AG Cook is great too. Personally, I prefer Desire I Want To Turn Into You because I think it has more interesting and varied production but Caroline's songwriting is brilliant on both.
Favourites - The entire second half but particularly Ocean of Tears and So Hot You're Hurting My ... read more
Wow. So, I actually heard Census Designated first and loved that album but I definitely think I prefer Frailty. There is not a bad track on here and every single track evolves as it goes on. These songs are fairly long but don't drag at all. Frailty is truly a vibe and I can see why people love this album.
Frank Ocean's Blonde is a beautifully stripped back R&B album with some of the best ballads of the 2010s.
Favourites - Nights, Pink + White, Siegfried
Least Favourite - Close To You
Frank Ocean's channel ORANGE is a lush R&B album with some great instrumentation, great features and, of course, stunning vocals.
Favourites - Pyramids, Pink Matter, Sierra Leone
Least Favourite - Pilot Jones
Dawn FM is Abel delving more and more into 80s pop with a fairly interesting concept to boot. It may be a little frontloaded but it's a great album nonetheless.
Favourites - Sacrifice, Take My Breath, Less Than Zero
Least Favourite - Best Friends
After Hours is The Weeknd's biggest and best album, with many of the best songs he's ever made.
