Not my fav, but what I would say is definitively their best. :) Night time has such a great post-punk sound. The echo-y atmosphere and distorted guitar remind me a lot of Joy Division and other post punk acts, but Killjng joke brings a great intensity to it. It’s really only one that Killing Joke can do. My only real issue with it is that some songs drag on longer than they should, like it feels like padding. Other than that this album is pretty amazing, and definitely has a great place ... read more
Although I admit they can be repetitive, THIS IS THE MOST UNDERRATED GOTH BAND OF ALL TIME‼️‼️‼️
Some of Bauhaus’ best work. Every song is super original and stylized. A very key contender to the goth hall of fame :)
No where near as iconic as Blue Album but still a banger in the end. :) I have a bit of love for every song, but I do feel like they lack so much personality compared to Pinkerton or Blue Album songs. This is about where Weezer tried to divert away from being a nerdy band so ig that’s why, but I don’t see why they wanted to change in the first place. :/ (favs were Glorious Day, Island In The Sun, and Photograph)🖤
I kinda just realized I don’t have much to say about albums I actually love😭🙏What I will say though is that this is another album that really got me into music, and it holds a special place in my heart for that. :) Blue has such a nerdy and weird vibe, and it was also one of the first pieces of music that could be considered geek-rock, so that’s cool. Favs are Say It Ain’t so, TWHTALMH, Surf Wax America… fuck it, all of them. I just love this album so much🖤
AMAZINGLY EERIE record that gives me chills and a feeling I’ve never really gotten from another album. :) It’s sad to see the critic score match so horribly with how good this is. Definitely one of their best (IF NOT THEIR BEST) album(s) to date!!🖤(Favs are One Hundred Years, The Hanging Garden, and A Strange Day).
Although it’s not definitive Bauhaus (excluding Bela), I still believe they did it amazingly. Bite My Hip is one of my all time favs and Bela Lugosi’s Dead will always be a timeless classic. An absolute must-listen for anyone wanting to get into the genre.
It’s good, I guess? I like it, but like in a weird masochistic way. It’s so boring and every track sounds the same, the vocals and lyrics are terrible, but I vibe with it. Realistically though I can’t (in good conscience) give it any more than a 55.
One of the best and most essential goth albums of all time, it’s really that simple.🖤(Love Will Tear Us Apart is top 5 songs oat btw).
Omg peak. I’ve listened to Hatful Of Hollow idk how many times now. Although it’s not an LP, it has (imo) the best selection of Smiths songs, who also happen to be one of the greatest bands in history. I don’t think it would be crazy to call this the best compilation of all time tbh. If anything, it’s definitely my favorite :)
There’s definitely some work to be done, but The Dare has loooooads of potential in his future. Super excited to see where he goes.
Such a classic goth album, and one of my favs. :) Not to mention this basically created Darkwave, there was stepping stones for it before, but Xymox really set the bar. Some songs here feel menacing, while others feel beautiful. No matter the mood tho, I can imagine how unique it all sounded at the time. Darkwave was an amazing creation. This is definitely a must listen for any baby-bats. Favs are No-Words (which is eternally amazing btw), Stumble And Fall, and Seventh Time.🖤
This is the first Tyler album I’ve listened too and omg this is amazing! Literally the only reason this isn’t higher is because I didn’t really enjoy Sticky and I Killed you and the song placement was weird. Other than that though, this is one of the best albums I’ve heard this year. He’d definitely deserve a Grammy :)
Absolutely perfect. I don’t even have to say anything just please listen to it.
Beautiful atmosphere and lyrics + the album that got me into music. :) Portamento will always have a special place in my heart and will always be one of my fav albums oat.🖤(Favs are How It Ended, Money, and Hard To Love)
