On OctoMarkus's review of Grabbitz - Butterfly Radio Vol. 1
"I just looked at the tracklist. Wowie.. I can't wait to listen to that tomorrow morning!"

On AbsurdToastling's review of Younger Brother - Mutually Assured Distraction
"The vocals on Vaccine were done by Ruu Campbell. I did anticipate and notice the more lush soundscapes in the record, as I figured this change might occur after Vaughan's recent efforts under the Eidolon LP & the Oneiric EP! :)"
On zadinx's review of Ray Volpe - BrAiNdEaD
"I can't be bothered to look back through the track to find this, I believe it's at the end of the DnB drop, but there's a specific section where they just cut off into the bridge even though that's not how they were structuring the track? It threw me off completely, was the main reason why I gave such a low score (of 13). Ray started his project in 2013 and Hedex started his project in (I think) 2014, so this cut was produced with a combined expertise of 25 years... goodness me."
On le11's review of Panda Eyes - KIKO
"Ah, I see!"
On le11's review of Panda Eyes - KIKO
"Wait, what was changed? Just curious."
On Finesden's review of Chime - Coins!
"Found this one back in 2019, loved it ever since! Good ol' Chime."
On Dreamyreviews's review of Infected Mushroom - Converting Vegetarians
"[You don't have to listen to me here, just pushing forward suggestions :) ] Next you can try Converting Vegetarians II, as that album has no psytrance and focuses more on Downtempo / IDM, apart from that they don't really have any other IDMy releases apart from a few select singles. I guess after that you could try LOTBS, essentially it's just an extension of the VD sound with a west asian flair. I mean you can basically listen to every IM album, they're all psytrance (minus Army of Mushrooms & Friends on Mushrooms), although I would advise against listening to the Shroomeez EP & the Breathe Underwater EP. I'm not sure if you'll like BP Empire or The Gathering but who knows. Anyway, cool to see another IM review! :)"
On OctoMarkus's review of Dodge & Fuski - Washed Up
"Aerophobia days are long gone."
On Finesden's review of AXIMETRIK - Lerna
"That was just a joke. ;p Probably should've used an indicator, sorry. :c"
On Finesden's review of AXIMETRIK - Lerna
"...much IM inspired, I think you'd enjoy it. FABULOUS is also great, but Lerna is bad, you should avoid that one. His most recent LP is Neurofunk, although I would recommend doing that one last because imo it's a bit underwhelming. I'll rec Dawns & Winters and Alien Lifeform for now."
On Finesden's review of AXIMETRIK - Lerna
"Ayy! Very well-written, this basically takes what I would've said about the project into words. This record basically caused my second-ever extreme addiction, straight after LOTBS, especially the track run of 01 - 17, genuinely insane quality. If you're interested in listening to more of Sam's work, I've rated all of it so you can comb through that if you want to. However, to generalise: His 2014 - 2016 material does contain some psytrance, but it's mostly glitch / genre experimentation. If you're a big fan of CV1's other side / CV2, you should enjoy that material. Highlights would be Warriors, Dawns & Winters, and his debut LP One Step Away. 2017 onwards, he turned his head to focusing on psytrance, his 2019 LP Alien Lifeform is very..."
On OctoMarkus's review of KDrew - Circles
"More of a Bullseye fan, but Circles is great too!"
On Shimmy11's review of AXIMETRIK - Alien Lifeform
"True... Notice how IM made dubstep in 2012??? That's them following instructions from Skrillex... (It's true)"
On Shimmy11's review of AXIMETRIK - Alien Lifeform
"Wrong, it was actually AXIMETRIK who inspired Infected Mushroom to form back in 1996! (Don't fact check this, I promise I'm lying oops I mean not lying)"
On Finesden's review of Infected Mushroom - Lightweight
"Fair enough."
On Finesden's review of Infected Mushroom - Lightweight
"They've been on their decline since 2018... ;p But yeah, it is quite unfortunate that they've branded this cut like this. It doesn't sound like Heavyweight whatsoever, even after about 10 listens I can't establish the sonic connection between the two. Oh well. Hopefully their upcoming LP has a few masterpieces, or else I guess I'll just be listening to LOTBS & IMTS for the next 3 years."
On AndrewK's review of Hibernation - Ambient Re:Works 01
"On a genuine note, great write-up."
On AndrewK's review of Hibernation - Ambient Re:Works 01
"This is not a very good description of Kaya's work, here's my interpretation: Kaya is an Extratone artist who interweaves country-pop and harsh noise into his work. He is most known for Ambient Mixes 1, which contains "Slide (Ambient Mix)", a thinly veiled diss track towards Infected Mushroom. He has won multiple Oscars. Hibernation is the collaboration project between Kaya Project & Falling In Reverse. This album is very good."
On Void_Epiphany's review of Tipper - Forward Escape
"@Void_Epiphany You're welcome! I'm still quite new to psybient/IDM myself, having found those genres in late 2024, but it's really nice falling away from the world for an hour or two. Have a good time, and I hope some of these click for you. :)"
On Void_Epiphany's review of Tipper - Forward Escape
"Oh my god I forgot to push forward Shpongle, my bad. Shpongle is the duo that kickstarted psybient, their 1998 album is "legendary" (although I disagree, I think the pacing is too slow but oh well). Their next three albums are legendary (without the speech marks this time because I do agree!), Simon Posford (1/2 of Shpongle) is one of my favourite producers. My reviewing skills are abysmal because I can't translate my feelings into formal writing, but TotI, NL...BNIL & IMfS are masterpieces imo, and they're incredible from an unbiased standpoint. Younger Brother (another Simon Posford project) is a little less tribal but still psychedelic nonetheless."
On Void_Epiphany's review of Tipper - Forward Escape
"... Globular & Geoglyph's Messages From The Resonator (https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/1373311-globular-messages-from-the-resonator.php), if you like that album then you can chase down Globular, 2018's Entangled Everything is at the same level but the rest of his discography is slightly worse than EE & MotR. If you don't mind eastern instrumentals & vocals then try Kaya Project, personally I fell into a complete trance with Desert Phase & Up From The Dust, and for the most part, his other records are at a high bar too. Easily Embarrassed is very good, Dutch trio that isn't active anymore but 2008's Idyllic Life is practically perfect imo."
On Void_Epiphany's review of Tipper - Forward Escape
"Psybient is a very interesting genre and it's difficult to find a bad release because the genre is niche, and since it's a very technical genre, most people who listen to it tend to be audiophiles (like myself), so most of the stuff that gets pushed around is well produced. You wouldn't hear psybient at a mainstream festival like Ultra or EDC. I can try to push more psybient your way but Tipper has a unique sound with his quickfire notes, so I would push forward the Fathoms EP (https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/284700-tipper-fathoms.php), however if losing that isn't an issue, then I'd push forward other stuff like Culprate's Deliverance (https://www.albumoftheyear.org/album/51985-culprate-deliverance.php) ..."
On AndrewK's review of Zenji - Ode to the Unsung
"No dubstep?? This EP is a 0/100..."
