Michael Jackson - Bad
88

Bad. Sooo many iconic bangers on this one, smooth criminal, man in the mirror, dirty Diana, and off course. Bad.
But unfortunately there are a few tracks that I “dislike” on this one. On his previous two records, off the wall and thriller, I did not experience this. So honestly I was quite surprised to dislike not one but two Michael Jackson songs.
And that is mainly the reason that this is not in a 90+ rating. The songs in question happen to be speed demon and Liberian girl, I also ... read more

Michael Jackson - Off the Wall
89

Do you wonder what came before the best selling album oat? Here it is, Off the wall, The start of Michael Jackson. Michael’s first solo album where he was in control, the first album with producer Quincy Jones.
Off the wall is the cornerstone of 70s disco pop music, and what a record it is. This album is gonna make you dance, like it or not, and that groovy and dancy vibe is the overall feeling of the album.

We’re starting off with “don’t stop til you get ... read more

Noah Kahan - The Great Divide: The Last Of The Bugs
90

This just cuts me open. To release an album like this requires an insane amount of bravery, the honesty is so pure and beautiful. Combine the poetry in the lyrics, with Noah’s raw and fragile voice, with sad folk style music, the final product is indescribable.

This will get you sad, it will.
It’s very long, but for some reason I allow it. Normally I’m a guy who will roll my eyes over a 21 song record, and ask the writer ”who the fuck do you think you are?”. But ... read more

Matt Corby - Tragic Magic
88

Matt corby proves, yet again, that he’s a real musicians musician on tragic magic, his best work yet.
The Aussie manages to check all the boxes of what an album should contain. The groovy and classy music is supported by Matt Corby’s soulful voice. The end result is an absolute world class album.
The feelings this record gives are mainly joyful.
The lyrics are very honest and open, and with the rasp in Matt’s voice, the result is pure beautiful magic.

I love a lot about this ... read more

Michael Jackson - Thriller
97

I could leave this review without any words. But I won’t.

The amount of highest possible mountain peak excellence this insane record carries is unbelievable. Quincy jones producing, Paul McCartney featuring, Iconic.

We start of with track 1 “wanna be startin somethin” such a cool title for the first track, kinda feels like Michael is already talking to you through the song title. The music is already insane on the first track, and the mamma si choir on the end carries such ... read more

C418 - Minecraft - Volume Beta
86

Mozart ain’t got shit on c418. The follow up to alpha, does not his as hard as it’s older sibling. But still brings indescribable feelings. Dreiton brings hope I haven’t felt in years.
This compared to alpha is a bit more dystopian and mysterious. Which makes sense considering it’s meant to be a reflection of the nether. While alpha is a reflection of the overworld. I just wish we could be blessed to hear the 3:rd album, gamma, which would be a reflection of the ... read more

Radiohead - In Rainbows
89

Radioheads absolute peak album, or maybe it’s the one leaning most toward my music taste.
I have to know what drugs they were on writing this. All I need has some type of hypnosis to it, as many other tracks on this well composed masterpiece. It feels very emotional this album, almost fragile. Like it’s on the verge of breaking into tears, or maybe that’s me.

ZAYN - KONNAKOL
80

Konnakol brings a very cool vibe. The RnB centered album allows Zayn to explore his indian culture and heritage. The word Konnakol means making percussive sounds with the voice, and Zayn manages this very nicely on this record. Using his voice to recreate drum sounds or background layered melodies with his voice.

The music feels RnB, but the Indian style is noticeable here and there as well. Some signs of rap is also kinda there. Especially on nusrat, the opening track. Here the Konnakol style ... read more

Harry Styles - Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.
85

I have many thoughts on this. Mainly good ones, but shift a few things around, and this record could have been even better than his last. My main problem with it is that it sits right on the edge of being to experimental. I love that he experiments and does something different from Harry’s house. But musically you don’t really feel where he is going.
Some parts follow the road you think he wants to go, some parts follow his previous records. And some parts of this record just makes ... read more

Louis Tomlinson - How Did I Get Here?
82

A difficult rating to make, because it feels a bit unclear. Lemonade and imposter tries to be big hit singles, but end up a bit cliche with the very 2010 lyrics. Many tracks like on fire, sunflowers and sanity are very boring and lacks soul. But then after leaving me with negative feelings after the first 4 tracks he drops palaces. Which is a very word class pop song, power in the chorus, class songwriting. Nothing bad to say. Last night is a great slower pop song. Jump the gun allows a taste ... read more

Cigarettes After Sex - Cry
79

It feels like the songs that didn’t really make it onto their first self titled record. You get the feeling that this is ”cigarettes after sex 2” rather than a stand alone album. Because it very much has the same feelings and dreamy vibes as the first. Mind you it’s not bad in any case, just feels like it’s unable to live up to its older sister, and that makes it fall a bit flat.

Matt Corby - Everything's Fine
80

A real musicians album, groovy and light. Very enjoyable. Nothing bad on this record just like rainbow valley. Although it does lack a bit of big songs, but overall just a class album that you can’t be unhappy with. ”Problems” as the opening track gives you all the right ideas of what the album is gonna be like. Light and happy. It does manage to slightly dig into the sad ballad world with ”better than that” but apart from that it doesn’t leave you with much ... read more

Frank Ocean - Blonde
88

White Ferrari and Siegfried, oh my. A mix of devastatingly beautiful poetry and RnB music. It really delivers. I do feel the length of the album is unnecessary, it makes the beauty feel a bit to stretched. But the beauty is undeniable. A few tracks I don’t really vibe with, but overall very very class.

C418 - Minecraft - Volume Alpha
90

Memories memories memories. Although you don’t have to be a Minecraft nerd to absolutely adore this beautiful masterpiece, it does add heavy nostalgia on top.

Cigarettes After Sex - Cigarettes After Sex
91

The feelings inside this record are sexy and dreamy. One of those albums you can’t really explain, you just have to feel it. But what a beautiful record it is, brings many memories to mind.

Radiohead - OK Computer
82

Alone and dystopian are the feelings that come to mind. Far from my taste of music, but you have to appreciate the art and poetry of this apocalyptic record. Let down is…yeah, what is it? Sad is one word for it.

Matt Corby - Rainbow Valley
80

A beautiful vibe that sends you places. Miracle love is the peak, and what a high one it is. Nothing is bad, but it would need a bit more to climb higher.

Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver
95

Bon iver, self titled, brings indescribable feelings. The folk album is filled with nostalgic and beautiful melodies. It gives feelings of walking in a mossy forest, surrounded by life.
Very classy composed music by Justin Vernon, and yes it does surpass for Emma, forever ago…….comfortably.
The light and hopeful chords on wash does things to me I don’t even understand.

Harry Styles - Harry Styles
89

With a distinct emotional touch, harry styles begins his solo career with a rock/acoustic sound that makes you a bit concerned about his well being. Songs like “meet me in the hallway” and “from the dining table” are in full transparency devastating. And not to forget his debut single “sign of the times” which sends you all kinds of ways. Although having a few more upbeat tracks like kiwi, the whole feeling of the record is very sad.
I think it’s a ... read more

Harry Styles - Fine Line
