Can't stop listening to this! I loved Iceage's previous two LP's (which are my favourite Punk releases in the last 5 years) but this blew all my fucking expectations away.
Iceage totally came in left-field with this one. Unlike the first two albums, this one has a much stronger post-punk influence. The change in tempo doesn't take away from the music though, only adds to it, with the constant quick change in melodies.
Some of the songs on Plowing take influence from ... read more
Everything is fucking perfect with this album. Not only is it my favourite this year, but it is now one of my favourite LP's ever.
This album to me is the sonic representation of the human condition with all its natural complexities and above all its innate & gruelling struggle with trying to bring meaning to our species own existence. Swans really made a timeless album. This masterpiece is timeless. 10 years from now I will still be listening to this.
To Be Kind is a fucking CLASSIC.
I had to give this album a higher rating then I previously gave it. Time does that with these types of albums. 'good kid m.A.A.d. city' is much more than an album when you 'really' listen to it. It is essentially a story with two primary elements, an individual and an environment. The story's objective is to essentially show the colossal influence and effects a certain type of environment can have on a individual. Kendrick sees himself as a 'good kid' stuck in ... read more
One of the best albums I have heard in my life, this album is flawless. Provocative, abrasive, exciting, etc. basically an all round fucking classic PUNK record.
Explorative, dynamic, exciting, both fast and mellow on multiple tracks, moody, mysterious, thought-provoking and vastly beautiful.
This is one of the most exciting, introspective, mysterious, enigmatic, eerie and all round entirely beautiful albums I have ever heard in my entire life. It is now one of my all time favourites. Don't know how I haven't heard it before. When listening to it it felt both cosmological at times like I was travelling the mysterious universe or musically-metropolitan like I was all alone exploring a large exciting mysterious city at night with no where to go. Will be on repeat for many ... read more
Brilliant record. Lots of variety in musicality especially for a Punk record. But most importantly with this album is its messages and overall concept. It is probably the most creative Feminist record ever made and all the questions/issues brought up need to be evaluated a lot more in society then they were/are, both in 1980 and presently.
Some of the most cinematic, romantic / sensual, elegant, reflection-esque music I have ever heard. Trip Hop at its finest.
Shocked. I can't believe they did it for a fourth time. They created an entirely new sound for a fourth time. Abstract, experimental, busy, dynamic, exciting, fast, short and sweet. MC Ride comes in full force both sonically and lyrically. Even songs with less Ride tend to work and sound great. I feel as this project fits everything Death Grips represents / puts forth with their image the most. This is one of the most unique records I have ever heard. Not one skippable song. Totally amazed.
Totally surprised. Usually Arcade Fire's albums don't stand out to me that much but this project is in a league of it own. I applaud the bold adventurous, sonically-different route they took when making this project.
After I listened to this a week ago, I got a certain elevated "feeling" I have only felt before with DJ Shadow's Endtroducing... (which is my favourite album ever presently) This is now one of my favourite albums of all time.
Favourite album of all time. Hasn't been an album to date that gave me the feeling the first couple times I listened to this masterpiece. Truly 100.
