The first two lines are so good, The lyrics are honest and easy to understand. Instead of using complicated words or deep metaphors, they speak clearly—and sometimes, they even become a safe place for people to relate to their own experiences, the melody is great and those bass lines gets me everytime. (damn why is it so overhated, i mean just look at the rating bruh)
System of a Down Part 1 (Self Titled)
This album digs into topic of war, mind manipulation, drugs, society and the Armenian Genocide. The songs are simpler than they would end up being; despite all the uniqueness and originality they’d express here, you aren’t going to get a technical masterpiece. It’s astounding how good the lyrics are. Instead of drawing everything out into huge metaphors and using literary allusions to say “war is bad”, System really just say ... read more
ALICE IN CHAINS PART 1 (JAR OF FLIES)
Although there isn't much new here, Jar of Flies may be the best way to prove that the grunge-metal hybrid that Alice in Chains have created is one of the best hybrids ever made. I get from this album is a lighter side of Alice in Chains you won't find on any of their other releases. They also show just how diverse they can be, that they can write awesome hard, dark, distorted songs and heart-felt ballads. Jar of Flies shows how talented Jerry ... read more
PARTYNEXDOOR PART 1 (PARTYNEXTDOOR1)
A freshly signed artist from Drakes OVO Label, PARTYNEXTDOOR released an EP that is full of strippers and drugs.
PARTYNEXTDOOR1 does foreshadows those post-party moment and it's shown throughout every aspect on this album; the subtlety of the lyrics, the ambiance of the production, and a voice that's able to document every feeling a party brings. He has an ability to create a sexy and soulful hook on his songs.
PARTYNEXTDOOR has a style that ... read more
DISCOGRAPHY DIVE PART 2 (KORN PART 2 - SELF TITLED)
Korn is an album where it pioneers a whole new wave of music genre across the metal world, It's raw, funky and energetic but remember how dark, twisted and extreme one of the greatest nu-metal albums of all time truly was.
The album starts with the song "Blind", the explosive opening track listeners are exposed to Korn’s unique style. The down-tuned guitars rumble while Jonathan screams his lyrics; “ARE YOU ... read more
DISCOGRAPHY DIVE PART 2 (KORN PART 1 - LIFE IS PEACHY)
Life Is Peachy, an album where the band take the sound they established on their self titled debut and continue it in a darker and, on occasion, more improved direction.
The album starts with the very random and classic “Twist”. Everyone knows this one right?, a 48 seconds of Vocalist Jonathan Davis screaming gibberish over heavy detuned guitar riffs from Munky and Head with David and Fieldy providing that signature (and ... read more
DISCOGRAPHY DIVE PART 1 (RADIOHEAD - PABLO HONEY)
Pablo Honey is one of Radioheads most essential album up to date, although i didn't like it that much, this serves as the their starting poing to improve and to create a chain of wonderful albums up in their following release.
The band shows their talent in the early stages but it didn't meet the quality that i expected from this project, the first two tracks were pretty solid then after the third track "How Do You?" (which ... read more
She js woke up, At first i felt weirdness on this song but after a few listens but i understand it now, the lyricism on this one is strong plus the composition of the instruments sounds so clean, i enjoyed this one and I hope Fiona continues to release more, praying for an album
THEY DROPPED, SHE DROPPED, MY JAW DROPPED, MY BODY DROPPED WHEN I HEARD THIS ONE ong
RE-REVIEW PART 1
First Score: 89
Second Score:67
Sure it grew off A LOT on me, I don't really have that much to say about this one, I kinda liked the raw sounds of this album but the thing that drags me away from this one is the longetivity of this album, yes, this is only just 47 minutes but every track felt so long where some of them couldn't keep the momentum high and the instrumental just floats in the air. I love the instrumentation on this one but some of the lyrics ain't ... read more
Sorry if i overrate this one, I FUCKING LOVE IT A beautiful album about the stages of a relationship and the reflecting one does to learn, overcome and find comfort in grief. Its incredibly well done. This is by far my favorite album from Billie (even though i havent listened on her stuff) and is slowly becoming my favorite album of the year. I've been through the album many times now and want to share my interpretation of the entire work as I firmly believe it is intentionally cohesive ... read more
GNX is a beautiful and energetic album full of hidden stories and allusions. It plays like a extended victory lap. None of the year’s singles are included, references to the beef are scattershot and subliminal but its embers suffuse every preening boast and putdown. There’s no need for big conceptual flourishes of previous albums. This time around Kendrick is the concept, his creative intensity manifested as weaponised normality. “GNX” is, more than any one attribute, a ... read more
Those last few tracks bleed by ears. Limp Bizkit's second best album, next to Three Dolla Bill Y'all. Better than their later releases, and there are a few good songs, but Durst's vocals are a major problem for Significant Other. The whole album shares most of the same problems, namely Fred Durst's lyrics, Fred Durst's screaming and... oh, Fred Durst's inability to judge when to sing, rap or do some sort of combination of the two. Break Stuff is loud and noisy, ... read more
it is impossible not to enjoy at least one song on this album unless Oracular Spectacular was playing on your headphones during a transatlantic plane crash in the middle of the ocean and now you associate the song with aquatic cannibalism. I feel safe in this assertion mainly because I’m relatively sure the water-dwelling-human-eaters of Flight 666 have yet to develop Internet. But enough of my attempted humour, back to the review!
Equal parts squishy synth-pop and Flaming Lips, ... read more
This is my first time listening to a full TON Album, i haven't heard a single song from them, i really love the dark gothic theme of this one and the voice of the singer whoever that is. The songs are very rich in melody both vocally and musically, using sitar sounding instruments, acoustic guitars with chorus, luscious keyboards and even some Beatlesque orchestration. Of course, the trade mark industrial sound effects and distorted bass guitar are still there, as well as the Black Sabbath ... read more
I don't really have much to say about this one, this is solid as it sounds I love how innocent the songwriting is and how lo-fi the production is. To me, this is the rawest BH has ever sounded and I think it's great. Vic's vocal melodies on this album are also some of the catchiest stuff she's done. Probably not the best one but for sure the following albums will me amazing!
Favorite Tracks: Auburn and Ivory/Master of None
Least Favorite Track: Tokyo Witch
This album fills up with different kinds of emotion from grief to aggresive sadness, I really can’t praise Buckley’s vocals enough. His voice is the bedrock of this album and the main reason why I fell in love with it. Lyrics throughout the album carry a restrained, poetic quality. They embody my favourite kind of poetry—a handful of simple words that say so little, yet convey so much. Buckley has a lot to say about love, self-destruction, and even racism: “Racist ... read more
While DAMN. has its highs, it definitely comes with its lows, hence lacks the consistency that came with Kendrick's previous albums. However, you stil have to admire Kendrick for taking a more mainstream approach as an artist, and to fully staple his presence as head of the rap game.
Favorite Track: FEAR./DUCKWORTH.
Least Favorite: YAH./GOD.
