SPELLLING takes her abilities to another place with her third album. You can feel the world she creates with her music as you descend deeper into the stories she narrates. A theatrical fairy tale of birth, death and resurrection.
All Mirros goes deep describing the pain of love, heartbreak and depression, with a beautiful instrumental composition that gives the feeling of being gently laid down by his strings. I connected a lot with this album, and the album's closer "Chance" to me is a masterpiece of a song.
I'm not too much into bluegrass music, but i think this was a lovely baptism. Can't say I wasn't shaken by the sound of this album.
Tyler talks about his struggles while growing up, all in a beautiful album filled with almost cinematic production. The lyrics can be fun, provocative and personal, so much that sometimes it feels like reading his own diary...which is ironic considering the central theme of the mask.
Real Deal creates an interest in what the band might do in the future. It's a pretty nice album, although I kinda wish it sounded more like "Don't"...an enjoyable listen for sure.
SPELLING takes her experimental side a step further here, by making things more interesting even lyrically. It's a shame that sometimes they fall into repetitive patterns, because i think that melodically the album could have shined a lot if some of the instrumentals had a stronger print on each song.
I loved moments like the "Melted Wings" interlude, the climax in "Real Fun" or the eerie closer of the album "Falling Asleep".
SPELLING's debut album shows tiny bits of cool ideas that would return later in their career, however the songs drag on for way too long, are too repetitive and not interesting enough. Unfortunately, the album is boring to listen to.
IGOR is a powerful story of heartbreak, which is felt through every song, the production plays a fundamental part, almost becoming an entity guiding you between the emotions. It's unpredictable, scary and intimate.
Some of the songs are haunting, like "NEW MAGIC WAND", which is one of my favourites and sounds like being chased by some loose animal.
My personal favourite though is "GONE GONE/THANK YOU", its melodies do something to my feels.
an album filled with insecurities and rage, that does feel a bit too long with its 16 tracks but still hits like a truck
a great creative experiment from Gambino, a bit inconsistent quality-speaking
Tyler manages to fuse the fierce production of this album to very personal lyrics, creating a beautiful soundscape and some bangers.
jubilee captures you inside its dreamy atmosphere, full of love, hopes and sadness. Amazing production, lyrics and vocal delivery, the closing track "Posing for cars" feels like a burst of emotions and it's the best song on the album. Loved this one.
it has a nice start, but gets less interesting as it continues, there is some nice production and some good flows, but there's nothing that elevates it to make it leave an impression...also the ending didn't really feel satisfying, amazing intro tho.
perfectly fits Miles Morales'character, some songs feel a bit too repetitive, overall it's a really cool album
a step back from her previous record, it lacks a bit of creativity and feels too much like "generic pop" with few highs, some lows and a lot of average. Not too bad, not too good.
The rating is intentional.
