I Think The Glow Pt. 2 Unironically Changed My Entire Stance On Music, As A Whole.
I listened to this album at the start of 2025. mid-March and honestly at the time I didn't really think of it as any more than just some nice Folk/Slacker Rock. I didn't much care for songs like The Moon (which is now eternally scorched into my ears), Headless Horseman (one of my favorites) or Samurai Sword (also one of my favorites.) Over time, though, I started to catch on, like a heroin noob ... read more
The production of Egotrip is the standout from this entire project. The first thing that I took away from this project was that the production was really, really good. Although at points the mixing can get really sketchy, I do not think it takes away from the sampling work that Anthony James did.
What brings my score down is more of a personal thing, so really just take this with a grain of salt: I don't exactly like listening to super triumphant/anthemic music in general. To me, at ... read more
This shit took me too long to write, so you BETTER read it.
Talk Talk's "Laughing Stock" is not only a post-rock masterpiece, but an innovative one at that. Laughing Stock, with its dreamy and ethereal instrumentation over long runtimes, manages to build and pioneer an entire genre, whilst also being a shining example of said genre.
To even begin on reviewing such a monument in the music industry, it cannot be understated what this duo, and more specifically the lengths Mark ... read more
I dont know how to explain it, but Micas voice is literally perfect for the music Magdalena Bay makes.
"epic"
"uplifting"
"anthemic"
This Trap Soul Urban Contemporary Epic Gospel song is a grace to your ears!
SUPER passionate vocals from Jesse Lacey, prominent, rampaging guitars that feel new with every track, and horrific story telling in a lot of the songs.
Like Jesse is giving it his all on every fucking track lmao and it's catchy as hell and compliments the guitars super super nicely, and the drums being loud and crisp give it a nice touch.
I think the only thing that may take away from this album is, if someone saw me listening to this, they'd think I was really REALLY edgy.
im crying this shit doesn't even have a genre
update 1/26/2026: it has a genre now
God Damn Bro this is kinda spectral but really fucking sad
This """"""""""EP"""""""""" is the equivalent of floating through space, but an empty bottle of antidepressants is in the helmet of your space suit.
A little bit weaker than Ziggy Stardust. It doesn't have the same highs that his previous album did, and took a bit more of a mainstream sounding approach? I don't know, this doesn't have the same personality that Ziggy Stardust had.
FINAL EDIT: 90 -> 98 -> 100
I'm a fucking pussy for not giving this a 100 immediately.
yeah, all of these songs are perfect.
Super depressing, super empty, super atmospheric.
This is probably one of the most depressing hip hop albums I've ever listened to. This is the musical equivalent of staring at a silhouette of yourself, completely empty and white. It spares you of feeling with introspective lyrics, smooth production and overall a melancholic vibe.
This is not an album to enjoy. It's one to writhe in the sadness of the past and how you'll never go back.
It isn't just a "Minecraft Soundtrack."
This is a magnum opus; a masterpiece; a timeless classic.
but most of all, this is my childhood. I don't play Minecraft too often anymore, but when I do I try to play earlier versions just to hear the soundtrack. Volume Alpha perfectly encapsulates the feeling of playing Minecraft, it's something almost magical.
I have a story to share. It was during COVID, like March 2020, and I was playing Hypixel Hide and Seek instead of ... read more
greatest posse cut of all time i legitimately always cry on the transition to SGP's verse
I don't give a FUCK about the lyrics this production makes my whole dick sticky and that's a F.A.C.T.
I thought he said "touch me, minors" and it permanently ruined the way I view this song.
