This is not going to be review, but rather an explanation that I'm aware is owed to nobody at all. Skip to the end if you just want Breach thoughts.

This is my own Clancy Letter, in a way. This band and their story means everything to me. I just feel like explaining why. I'm essentially going to yap about my time as a fan of this band, and mostly about a person who was very important to me for a long time.
I want this to forever be representative of how I felt, and what I was ... read more
Big step up from End of Summer for sure. Not sure how they'd fit on the same album, but hopefully it's mostly like this. Little less repetitive would be nice also. This is definitely the direction I was hoping for, but also not quite up to par for Tame Impala standards.
Edit: Having heard the full album, it's interesting that my opinion has completely flipped. I think End Of Summer is actually a stronger track. I find this one to be quite monotonous.
kinda at a loss for words, sooo let's just say... sailor album is actually better than ghost album, which was already even better than mountain album.
A lot of nice production across the board, but other than Quadeca's contributions and a surprisingly solid performance from Dominic Fike on "Geezer", I can't say anything here is likely to stick with me for long. A very decent album altogether, but still a slight let-down considering the way it was hyped up.
While this album can be corny at times, I feel it's an overall improvement from his last two projects. It feels more mature and consistent, and while I can't always relate to what he's speaking about, the emotion does occasionally come through where it counts. I won't be revisiting it, but I appreciate the growth and clarity that he displays here.
Unexpectedly very good album from Miley! Might not come back to it a ton, but I can appreciate the ambition behind it.
After hearing SABLE, and all of the singles, something about this album just wasn't clicking with me. I was anticipating it's release, but I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I do. This is a perfect example of why context is so necessary. It's not a perfect album, nor is it my favorite Bon Iver album. But it is a beautiful listen through and through.
I can't imagine a more perfect album. It does quite literally everything right.
Shut up, I don't care, this thing is fucking perfect.
Excellent solo album from one of the most unique and fascinating artists working today. If black midi had to die for this to be born, then so be it. I have a feeling whatever Mr. Greep does next will be something very very special.
Really hard to believe this is their lowest rated album, even if by a small margin. To me, this is what I've been waiting for. This album has more direction, more drive, more variety, and in my opinion, more passion behind it than the others. Don't get me wrong, I love the first two albums as well, but there's something special about this one. It just feels like everything finally falls into place and feels as it should.
Lovely first project from The Smile. I love Tom Skinner's contributions to Thom and Jonny's already excellent dynamic, but some tracks feel like they're missing something to me. Hard to place exactly what, but it's a feeling that I don't get from the band's next two albums.
Pretty good first outing for Porter, but I don't feel that it's aged especially well when looking at his most recent work. Most tracks on Worlds overstay their welcome by a fairly large amount of time. They sound nice, but they lack substance and meaning. It's a pleasant enough listen, but he can do so much better. And he has.
Really sweet album with great lyrics and exciting production. Some tracks do drag a tiny bit, but it's overall a really brilliant and artistic piece of electropop.
Damn. This is just banger after banger after banger. The loud, danceable moments are electric and the softer, quieter moments are poignant. It's a crazy balance but it really does work. If not for the Lil Wayne interview samples being a bit too much on "Year of the Cup", this would've received a perfect score from me.
This is one of the most well-produced albums I've ever heard and I can't stop coming back to it. This album feels like a canon event.
Quite a return to form! This may not be a perfect album, but it's certainly a very good one. It's been almost a year and my feelings on the album haven't changed very much. I almost want to wait to review this when Tyler finally wraps up the Dema storyline, which I think is happening sooner rather than later... but this is the album as it was presented on release, so even if there's a deluxe later, this is still Clancy. And it's pretty damn good.
My complicated feelings for this band are made all the more complicated by this album's existence. The internal flip flopping between liking this album and hating it is in a constant flux, which makes it difficult to rate it. Once Trench saw the band reach levels of acclaim that I had never expected, I felt that the follow-up would be important in maintaining that respect. But instead, they chose to ditch everything that made Trench so spectacular in favor of a simpler, more light-hearted, ... read more
I'm not going to say much here. This album means the world to me. This has been a staple in my life since the day it released, and even before then. The story, the production, the lyricism, the artistry that is presented here just shows that this band is worth the hype around them. This album is so special that it's difficult to put it into words for me. I spent years almost ashamed of being a fan of this band. I'd downplay my love for this album in particular, but as I've ... read more
