"No fucks given" the album, in the most gentlemanly way. everything I love about punk. the songs are such thoughtful but also messy. I love that they just get the message across with beautiful songs and fucks off right way.
- mr. suit, reuters, surgeon's girl, field day for the sundays hell yes!
I adore white light. the songs may seem one dimensional but swans ability to create doom atmosphere within every song makes the songs very distinguishable. love will save you doesn't save me, instead tears me apart (in the last instrumental passage of the song, I hear whispering vocal 'Help Me" in between all chaos. Is it just me dilusioning? it seems to me as begging before the last two songs of the album come in which nothing is left except void. it may be nothing but my thought. I can't ... read more
SHEEEEEESSSSHHHHHHH!!!
- denmark/van gogh & gone, surfs up, cubensis lenses.
the voice is incredibly cute instruments sounds gorgeous. ahhh.
- moving, the saxophone song, l'amour are my most liked ones.
Fugazi has a tendency to create song with build up that doesn't have a singular climax rather flat-climax through which it progresses/repeats (at least in this album). lyrics are harsh, thought provoking, not just mindless shouting/cursing every 2 seconds. most of it serves a purpose.
Getting into fugazi can be hard. The style may not instantly click with you. give it a few listens.
it's one of the most ideal out of all the punk bands I can think.
- suggestion, burning too, waiting room, ... read more
Parachutes is comforting. a soft-rock album with fine tunes constantly. You might not always add up the lyrics.
- spies, high speed, trouble
Jagged sounding with very similar vibes among the tracks. this makes the main divider between someone liking it or not.
it's enjoyable and fun to song-along. last nite is just a bit less enjoying for me.
- is this it, modern age, barely legal are my favorite ones.
It's so good. Somewhat haunting, rigid. both vocal, instrumental completes each other and enhances the intensity.
- blind spot, kakistocracy
Indian classical influences show up in great form in the music and cover art of masana temples. intro though a bit loud.
- dipping sun, blanket song (whole album experience is better.)
The music is what you'd expect from this cover. bliss, relaxing.
- cardigan song, dune (complete listen is a great experience.)
By far the best pixies project. every song bangs, shreds. Also, what did they smoke to come up with these lyrics?
- levitate me, vamos, nimrods son yeah.
great album. I love tom's vocal style. rasp, melancholy, full of emotions.
- martha, ol'55, lonely my favorites.
what to say but praise this. New listener may have to familiarize themselves with tools style. it's villainous, dense but doesn't over shadow the strong melody, riffs, instrumental passages and lyrics. Stinkfist has The "Most satisfying hand-banging moment" in all of metal in my opinion. Third eye is my favorite tool song also the closer of this album, which borderline tries to physically engrave a third eye on my forhead.
This album is very personal to me. ' Taikutsu shinogi ' is the song that will probably stuck with me forever. I don't know it's lyrics topic. Rather I don't want to. Maybe it's not that profound or coming from the similar place as I found it to be. The first time I experienced it, I broke down with all sorts of emotion, anxiety that I kept solely to myself. Suddenly all things became so clear also hazy at the same time. while and After listening the album, I felt numb. it made an impression of ... read more
I can't express how mesmerizing this ep is. Though being under 20 minutes, it gives a full album experience that purifies my soul. ao feels like a thin needle being hammered down to the side of my skull. I love it. The moment when vocal comes with the head banging instrumental on sleeptight, ahhh.
- LISTEN TO IT ALL THE WAY THROUGH.
j-rock solid as a brick. repetition doesn't affect much. maybe my favorite of them. Gets me pumped up instantly.
- oshakashama, bagpipe, tayuta to get a glimpse.
every time I come back to listen a certain track, my mind goes, ah I guess I'll just listen to the whole album again, just the thousandth time. never gets worn out. favorites change on every listen.
- thanks a lot, london, the background, god of wine most enjoyed.
