Pink Flag was a fractured snapshot of punk alternately collapsing in on itself and exploding into song-fragment shrapnel. The record's minimalist approach means the band spends only as much time as needed on each song.

If America wanted the Ramones to be quick and to the point then I suppose England wanted Wire to be quick and to the pointless.
The quintessential art-punk album. I must have listened to this album hundreds of times, and every track still hits like a runaway train. Also, my girlfriend got it for my birthday, so even more reason for this being a perfect 100.

Update: Yeah this is still my favorite Post-Punk album of all time, besides Disintegration

Being perfectly honest, I think that while the Brits mastered certain rock genres, they paled in comparison in terms of punk when compared to their American contemporaries. It often just felt so much drier and more toothless than what a band like Dead Kennedys were delivering. Wire is an exception.
