I plan on relistening to it eventually but I had pretty high expectations since I like some of Lil Ugly Mane’s other stuff and i’m also a fan of neo-psychedelia but the album just felt kinda unfinished and didn’t really do it for me.
More atmospheric than the first volume and has less bangers but not bad by any means.
Was interested going into this as I know a lot of people love George Clayton but nothing really stood out to me that much.
One of Denzel’s weaker projects but still features some amazing rapping and has some bangers like Ricky.
Absolutely loved YouUgly and Glory when I started listening but the rest of the album just kind of fell flat on me. It felt so varied and not cohesive which put me off a bit. I’ll probably give it another try some day but no promises.
Am planning to relisten but it just didn’t really do it for me on first listen and I preferred GNFPWLBN’s style.
Simultaneously both overhated and overrated at the same time.
While I plan to give it another try and relisten to it, on first listen I wasn’t crazy about it due to the short song length and not really being impressed by Earl’s overly chill style of rapping but I’m willing to give it another try since I know a lot of people are ride or die for him.
An interesting side project from TV Girl that showcases some more varied ideas from their typical stuff. I’m pretty fond of some of these tracks but the overall album is a bit unpolished and rough so I understand the mediocre reception.
Was expecting much worse based on the ratings but was pleasantly surprised with a decent album in lieu of the unfortunate passing of Nell Smith. It probably has to do with me not minding the voice modification done that seems to have been off-putting for most others and that I haven’t listened to the original album as this is a cover album.
I liked some of their more popular tracks and wanted to check out their new album but I just realized i’m not crazy about their overall style outside of a few tracks.
Fairly good debut album from an aoty artist that while unpolished and shaky at times, shows a lot of promise with good production and decent rapping.
I was really hoping he’d blow me away with a Kendrick level conscious album after the snippet he released on youtube got my hopes up only for it to be the best song on the album by far.
Pretty short for a soundtrack but works well with the game and surprisingly doesn’t get too repetitive.
Solid collection of tracks with Black Thought’s exceptional rapping over some interesting afrobeat production.
After listening to Getting Killed and seeing Cameron Winter blow up I had to try it out but it just feels like Geese without my favorite parts. Still a good folk album but Winter’s voice and introspection doesn’t carry it enough for me.
