Although it wasn't received with as much attention as JID thought he deserved on release (while he certainly got the attention of hip-hop veterans, it didn't quite catch the eye of the commercial audience or established critics, as the low amount of Critic ratings shows), it became clear early on that The Forever Story was going to be a tough act to follow. After all, it took him a two year hiatus and two years of production to complete, and contains his most comprehensive and ... read more
To promote his fourth album God Does Like Ugly, JID released what he deems a "Preluxe", or four throwaway tracks that didn't fit the album enough to be included on the standard release. As such, the tracks are immediately apparent as throwaways. While JID has great flows on every song, the features are maybe not so much so. Lil Yachty is his normal, pretty lame self in Knew Better, and 6LACK offers an uncharacteristically dull and short verse on Lisa. Only Eminem on Animals (Pt. ... read more

This was, perhaps, modeled after the ideal vision of Iceland she has loved and ... read more
For an artist so prolific and a portfolio so intertwined with love, I suppose it was natural for Björk to eventually come upon a breakup album. It is, in fact, a little surprising she hadn't done so until Vulnicura, over two decades into her career! However, at the same time it must be recognized that this bold avoidance of the most popular album concept is what made her into the visionary, trailblazing artist she is to date. And when Björk is forced by circumstance to play into ... read more
